Abstract

 The Round table “Yuri Sherkovin – Soviet student of Wilbur Schramm” was held within the I International Symposium on the history of communication studies that took place at Higher School of Economics in November 2017.

Yuri Sherkovin was one of the first pioneers of social psychology in the Soviet Union. During his studies, he visited the USA and worked with Wilbur Schramm.

During the round table the son of Yuri Sherkovin, Dmitriy Sherkovin gave a short biographical interview about his father. The former students of Yuri Sherkovin – Mikhail Troyanskiy, Akop Nazaretyan, Elena Shestopal, Tatiana Evgenieva, and Fedor Fedosov made short messages about various aspects of Yuri Sherkovin’s work.
