"Magic of Screens - 2017": Russian national research conference

Abstract

Russian conference Magic of Screens was held in Moscow (State Institute of Arts) on 19-21 April 2017.
During the conference researchers and experts from various fields of study, such as Cultural Studies, Arts Studies, Philosophy, Philology, Sociology, Psychology, Economics and Media Studies, discussed a various range of cuestions dedicated to the screen culture and arts.
The main topics of the Conference were:
- Screen and the nature of Human;
- Art and Screen;
- Screen as an artistic and social mediator;
- Cities and Screen Cultures;
- Studying Magic: how the Screen Art is made and sold;
- Reshaping Future: human, avatar, clone... Who/What is next on the screen?
- Does screen change the real world?
That is important to mention the active reflection exercises of researchers and experts, dedicated to the screen culture from ancient times to modern phenomena, such as selfie culture, virtual reality, Television 2.0 and post-digital art. Various screen arts, such as full movies cinema and TV-series, TV-programs, video games and even dance and opera were covered by the speeches of the participants.
