Abstract

The rollowing text is the interview with Alexey Volin, Vice Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation. Alexey Volin shares his views on modern media system in Russia and worldwide, modern media technologies and issues of medialiterature of the audience. Alexey Volin also comments on the level of media education in Russia, Russian way of work in this field, vectors of development of media literacy and media education in recent years. According to words of Alexey Volin, in 2016 about 30% of Russian citizens had appropriate skills in the fields of media literacy. The possible solution is to launch cources of media education, which would be launched by major Russian media corporations. 

Alexey Volin visited HSE at March 5th, as a part of his participation at the round table "Journalists and the audience: how to bring back the trust of the readers and promote media literacy". Between the participants of the discussion were major media managers of Russian TV and Internet companies, media researchers from universities and a Dean of Faculty of Communications, media and design, Andrey Bystritsky.
