Abstract

The article deals with the idiomatic style of the Norwegian playwright Jun Fosse, 2023 Nobel Prize laureate. The characteristic features of his style — simple words and phrases, rhythm, pausing — give special significance to the word and to the text, bringing additional meanings. In Fosse’s play ‘Suzanne’ the effect of a textual echo is considered: there is a polylogue of one character on stage — the wife of the famous playwright Henrik Ibsen in the trinity of time (youth, maturity, old age) and one space. This helps to recreate a realistic image of the great playwright.
