Myth as a Way of Interpreting the Film "Parthenope" by Paolo Sorrentino
Abstract
The article explores the ways in which the mythological and artistic elements are intertwined in the film "Parthenope" by P. Sorrentino. This is demonstrated through the use of painting fragments and replicas of the characters in the film. The film, set in Naples, draws on mythological motifs associated with the ancient history of the city. It depicts the fates of the characters and their transformations. This allows the film to bridge the gap between the past, present, and future. It also highlights the spiritual issues of love, friendship and guilt. By examining the film, we can see how reality and the mysterious merge. We can also delve into the characters' psychology. This allows us to understand the multi-layered meaning of the work and to appreciate the director's intention.
